Description
UrgoClean Ag is an innovative dressing in non-woven, absorbent, and heel material, formed by poly-absorbent polyacrylate fibers that guarantee a complete cleansing and debridement action (from slough, fibrin, exudate, bacterial residues and biofilm) and from a colloidal lipid matrix TLC-Ag which performs an antimicrobial action.
The combined action of the TLC-Ag matrix and of the poly-absorbent fibers allows an action in an microbial, anti-biofilm and complete cleansing action. – The TLC-Ag matrix of UrgoClean Ag gels in contact with the exudate of the lesion, reducing the bacterial load of the lesion with a rapid and broad-spectrum action (tested on 36 bacterial strains and 4 yeasts, including the bacteriant resistant antibiotic strains -MRSA, ERV, ESBL). – In contact with the lesion, the poly-absorbent fibers of UrgoClean Ag gel and break up the biofilm matrix, allowing the silver ions to perform their bactericidal action inside the biofilm. The combined action of the poly-absorbent fibers and the TLC-Ag matrix has been shown to effectively reduce the concentration of MRS and P. aeruginosa bacterysessiles within 24 hours and during 7 days (delbiofilm reduction> 99.99%)
The anti-biofilm action of UrgoClean Ag is superior compared to Idrofibra Ag + Extra and compared to DACC dressing. – UrgoClean Ag removes all those factors that favor bacterial proliferation and can limit the action of silver. The poly-absorbent fibers of UrgoClean absorb and trap the slough, exudate and biofilm residues through an electrostatic mechanism. UrgoClean Ag clinically demonstrated after 4 weeks of treatment to reduce the slough by 62.5% and to clean 59% of lesions (lesionedetersa = lesion covered with less than 30% slough).

The UrgoClean Ag dressing must be replaced every 1-2 days before the start of treatment, and subsequently when necessary (up to 7 days) according to the amount of exudate and the clinical state of the lesion. Treatment with Urgoclean Ag should not last more than a month.
